Istanbul Police Department Takes Action Against Reckless Drivers
The Traffic Control Department of the Istanbul Police Department initiated an investigation after footage of a group of vehicles convoying on the European highway and endangering traffic safety was shared on social media on August 3rd.
Upon examination, individuals C.Ç, M.A, Ş.E, E.D, E.A, E.D.T, E.U, E.İ, and A.Ü. were identified from their license plate information and apprehended by the police.
The drivers were fined for “driving in convoy”, “disregarding traffic signs and rules”, and “reckless driving” under the Road Traffic Law.
In addition, drivers E.A, E.D.T, M.A, Ş.E, E.D, E.U, and A.Ü. who blocked the road had legal action taken against them for endangering traffic safety due to their dangerous maneuvers on the road.
